Cloud Dog

I go over the same town every day and everybody points at something else.

Five day outlook
Mon
Pleased
Low wind, nothing to do
Tue
Unimpressed
Somebody flew through me
Wed
Taking it out on you
Bring the washing in
Thu
Asleep
Drifting without steering
Fri
Back to pleased
No reason given
Cloud Dog high over the blue
Nobody has ever waved backWhich is fine. I am not up here for the attention, I am up here because that is where I ended up.

Children see me first. They tell an adult, the adult looks up a second too late, and by then I am a normal cloud again. This has happened for years and it has never once gone the other way.

On a good afternoon I hold my shape for maybe forty minutes. Then a wind comes through and I get to be a horse for a while, then a smudge, then nothing. It always comes back.
